Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6028)

Safe Crackers: David lost (Combination $430); Stove, Refrigerator, Dishwasher, and Food Processor

Lucky 7: Shelly lost; Ford Mustang Convertible

Time is Money: Jennifer wins; Pair of Motorcycles

Showcase Showdown #1: David wins with $1.00 ($1000)

Poker Game: Shannon wins; Home Decorations, Dining Room Table, Washer & Dryer, and Vacuum

5 Price Tags: Jerry wins; Pontiac Grand Am ($19,145)

Flip Flop: Ruth wins; Sauna ($4695)

Showcase Showdown #2: Shannon wins with 85 cents

Showcase: Shannon wins; Karaoke Machine, Piano, and Dodge Ram ($30,946 in prizes)

Here she comes, from the outside world now at Television City in Hollywood, a vision (and mind) of loveliness that’s thus far proven that she can model fantastic prizes, Price is Right model Erika Valdez! David representing the Marines was the first lucky contestant to win an item up for bids involving Erika. That would be an exercise machine she was demonstrating. Bob, including many others saw this one coming for a long time and it’s happened again. A model, Rachel in particular crashed the car being played for in Lucky 7 on the edge of the door featuring the game itself. Bob congratulated her for achieving this moment in Price history. I predict that if Shelly had won the convertible, its actual price would have been devalued due to possible damages to the bumper and the cost for driving lessons for Rachel. Jennifer’s attempt at messing with our minds was a success by her continuous picking of Time is Money items and making it appear that she’s ignoring Bob’s reminder that only one item is in the wrong price range. The rarely played Poker Game returns with future winner Shannon up for a playing. Before Bob and Jerry reached the door with 5 Price Tags, members on the audience chanted “Jerry, Jerry, Jerry!” What no “Steve, Steve, Steve”? After many appearances with no winner, Flip Flop was finally won thanks to an audience with a good knowledge of sauna prices. Shannon took the big risk of spinning the Big Wheel again with a score 60+ cents, which paid off for even more greatness at the end. Our would-be Showcase winner didn’t let David’s interest in the truck pass make her pass Showcase #1. Besides, that karaoke machine would have made old David cringe if somebody with very little singing ability gets his or hands on the microphone.

I sense a 75% chance that our Erika shall remain on the Price model line up for years to come. Welcome aboard the Price is Right Train, Miss Valdez!

Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6027)

Danger Price: Shaundra wins; Chair, Grill, Tool Set, and Cradle (“Danger Price” $2250)

Plinko: Shawn wins $700 with 5 Plinko Chips

Money Game: Emily wins $175; Pontiac Sunfire ($16,435)

Showcase Showdown #1: Shawn wins with 95 cents

Double Prices: Mark lost; Clock ($7500)

Check Out: Jonathan lost (over by $5.99); Trip to Ireland

Any Number: Linda wins Desk ($498); Ford Focus ($16,325)

Showcase Showdown #2: Linda wins with $1.00 ($1000)

Showcase: Linda wins; Parka Jackets, Trip to Holland, TV, and Boat ($25,603 in prizes)

Today marks a new day for me as a Price viewer! For the first time since declaring themselves “Your Weather Authority”, WKRG-TV5 no longer airs their live doppler radar 1-3 seconds shortly before every CBS program. Now all we need are the old TV5 bumpers that aired for many years before every program, but first I must review and comment on today’s Price. Our first contestant proudly represents the Air Force in her dark blue uniform. Shawn, a contestant who may make it big someday starts big (Coming on down and escaping Contestant’s Row), yet he leaves the stage small for the first time after playing Plinko. Patricia’s excitement overcame her, making herself say unorganized information such as her hometown/state being Northern Kentucky, Florence. She would correct herself, so everything’s fine! Emily happened to ask Bob to kiss him, which he very much approved of. And now, Shawn’s big moment, Bob allowed him to host during the rest of Showcase Showdown #1. Surprisingly to Bob, he actually did an excellent job. I expect great things in Shawn’s future and don’t expect any of it to cost Bob’s job. Mark of “Barker’s Beasts” represented the ever so famous California town thanks to Price Bakersfield. Jonathan celebrates 1 full year a marriage to Mahima on today’s show with a playing of $2 difference Check Out. Ireland happens to be the motherland of Jonathan’s ancestors. Linda, with a strong Texas accent began her winning streak on stage from a desk & chair to an interesting Showcase win thanks to a certain future game show host obviously bidding way over his actual Showcase price. That $1 bid of Linda’s was well worth it today!

Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6026)

Freeze Frame: Carolyn lost; Entertainment Center and TV ($8648)

Punch A Bunch: Miles wins $1000 with 3 Punches

One Away: Sean lost; Ford Focus ($18,140)

Showcase Showdown #1: Carolyn wins with 60 cents

Barker’s Bargain Bar: Miriam wins; Cabinet and Daybed

That’s Too Much: Brittany lost; Ford Taurus ($20,920)

Now or Then: Tedra wins (“Then” June 1996); Dining Room Group

Showcase Showdown #2: Tedra wins with 90 cents

Showcase: Tedra wins (Double Showcase Winner); Trip to Oakland, California, Stove, Ford Explorer, Ford Freestar, Purses, Motorscooter, and Trip to Chicago ($74,760 in prizes)

Carolyn won her way up on stage after bidding $2500 on a set of golf clubs that got more, if not all negative reaction from the audience than any positive. Bob expected an apology from the many audience members that went “boo” and/or “uhhhh” as he described the reaction. I guess those folks decided to hold their negative reaction after Carolyn chose to stop Freeze Frame at a price around $4000 lower than the actual price. Bob kept the reveal of the 3rd prize slip from the Punchboard a private moment to himself until he slowly revealed to the audience a “$10…”, which were actually the first couple of digits of the $100 prize slip. Curious Old Bob did it again! Half a show later, Bob unofficially declared today’s show “The Miriam and Tedra Show”, named after the two yellow shirt ones in Contestant’s Row. Speaking of Miriam, she finally escaped to not only play a Pricing Game, but to give Bob one of the many yellow shirts featured today. All of this became possible thanks to the perfect opportunity to bid $1. Brittany got her birthday wish to kiss Bob, which was written on her yellow shirt. Our 2nd yellow shirt contestant Tedra (First Miriam, Third Brittany) straight from the great state of Alabama fully understood the rules of Now or Then, which took part in her amazing win. This was not the end of Tedra’s winning streak, which would later be topped off with a Double Showcase Win! Speak of the truth, like Maria from yesterday’s show, Tedra shares the same profession! Know what that means? Today’s show ends with her fellow nurses (wearing yellow shirts) joining her on stage after such a rare Showcase victor. Made you feel like singing “Sweet Home Alabama”, didn’t it? Now if y’all excuse me, I must invest in all yellow shirts. Yes, even blank shirts!

Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6025)

2 For The Price of 1: Maria lost; Dishes ($763) and Trip to Mexico

Ten Chances: James wins Mini Fridge ($50) and Luggage ($960); Dodge Neon ($15,740)

Bonus Game: Norma wins; Living Room Group

Showcase Showdown #1: Maria wins with 85 cents

Range Game: Loria wins; Bed ($3699)

Pass the Buck: Clarence wins $5000; Chevy Aveo

One Right Price: Jordan lost; Exercise Bicycles ($1399) and Cabinet

Showcase Showdown #2: Jordan wins with 90 cents

Showcase: Maria wins; Best Selling Novels, Trip to Sydney, Australia, and Trailer ($30,742 in prizes)

After a week and 4 days of anticipation by a small portion of Price viewers, Bob announced on the show before Items Up For Bids #2 that Rich Fields shall be announcing from now on, causing lots of applause from the audience and I'm sure there was plenty of that from the home viewers. Rich also got his time on camera while saying a few words in appreciation of this lifelong dream spanning 30 years. Emma the 1-year-old dog was featured shortly before the events of Contestant’s Row that I am about to state. We made it through 3 Contestant’s Row bids on the same prize due to everyone overbidding twice. It would have only been once if James went with his instinct of bidding $1. Who appeared to know how to play Ten Chances, James slowly went downhill down the line of chances until chance #9 to write $960 for the luggage. In a show with 2 Contestant Row overbids, one manages to escape after bidding exactly right and that would be Norma up for a playing of the Bonus Game ($500 bonus not included with game). Loria had the honor to tell all about the Range Game’s 37-hour rule. Representing the Marines and the great state of Alabama, Clarence promises to neuter every animal in the state after playing Pass the Buck. Looks like a portion of that $5000 is getting put to good use. Bob even added the neutering of Alabama animals to his daily reminder to have your pets spayed or neutered. Today's show ends with Maria and all her fellow nurses gathered around the trailer. We even got to see our Showcase winner perform a couple of jumping jacks.

Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6024)

Triple Play: Gregory lost; Ford Focus, Chevy Cavalier, and Chevy Malibu

Pushover: Nakkia lost; Catamaran ($4195)

Most Expensive: Brandon wins; Washer & Dryer, Clock (Most Expensive), and Dining Room Table

Showcase Showdown #1: Nakkia wins with 85 cents

Secret X: Nicholas wins; Bedroom Group

Cover Up: Rose lost; Ford Escape ($20,320)

Bullseye: Michael wins; Trip to Niagara Falls

Showcase Showdown #2: Michael wins with $1.00 ($1000)

Showcase: Double Overbid; 2 Pens with Sterling Silver Bands, Hot Tub, Chrysler Cross; Living Room Group, Vacuum, and Piano

Gregory guessed correctly that he would play for at least 1 car, yet he had no previous knowledge of Triple Play after 20 (his estimate) years of watching Price. Nakkia happened to be the “love” of the “Bakersfield Loves Bob” group in the audience. Rose of Contestant’s Row admits to being in love with Bob for about 30 years, while Edna says she would prefer him over a certain high profiled actor Bob mentioned in an interview for A&E’s “Biography” (that would be Mr. Brad Pitt for those who guessed wrong). Nicholas brought along a whole different kind of shirt for Bob, a tight shirt in honor of Bob’s hip and awesome personality. Hence the word “tight”. Bob promises to wear the shirt to bed. Rose escaped Contestant’s Row to play her favorite game that is of course Cover Up. Hopefully it shall remain her favorite game. Michael, a former player for Fresno State now math teacher ignored that negative reaction from the audience after saying 5 boxes of popcorn that added up to the winning price range of $10-$12. Nicholas flexed his arms a bit before taking a spin of the Big Wheel. Must have been an attempt at intimating Michael, who’s quite a big guy compared to Nicholas. Showcase #1 featured the uncovering of the Chrysler Crossfire from the lifted sheets, all unfortunately became part of a Double Showcase Overbid.

Get ready for the big announcement to the home viewers on Rich Fields tomorrow!

Million Dollar Spectacular #10 (Teachers from Everywhere)

Plinko: Eugenia wins $3000 with all 5 Plinko chips

Ten Chances: Debra wins (8 Chances); Foot Spa ($90), Snowboard Package ($650), and Ford Mustang Convertible ($25,310)

2 For The Price of 1: Jeffrey wins; Tool Collection ($629) and Ford Windstar

Showcase Showdown #1: Debra wins with 90 cents

Most Expensive: Marian wins; Cabinet, Piano (Most Expensive), and Refrigerator

Dice Game: Kristi lost; Buick Century ($23,146)

Grocery Game: Patricia lost ($32.25); Spa

Showcase Showdown #2: Patricia wins with 70 cents

Showcase: Patricia wins; “T.P.I.R. High Showcase” Jukebox, Trip to Italy, and Boat ($75,615)

Price’s own version of a little red schoolhouse was in top shape tonight! Not one, but hundreds of teachers from the across the land joined us, theme decorations added to what made this special spectacular, the intercom system’s very own Rich Fields brought us all good news, the consultants also known as the models (Brandi, Rachel, and surprising Lanisha) kept all activity in working order. Last but certainly not least, the head of this not-so-ordinary schoolhouse for the night, Bob Barker.

From her first words “Hi Bob” in Contestant’s Row, Eugenia would win her way for a challenge at the Plinko board with 5 chances (“Ah what the heck, lets go with 5” – Eugenia winning last Plinko chip) at winning up to $100,000. Debra’s playing at Ten Chances started out slow, yet she managed pull through to her Mustang, which lead to hugging Rachel and slowly preparing to kiss Bob after being reminded that she could do possible bodily harm if she were to hug him too. Another contestant quota, this one from the mouth of 82-year-old Marian to Bob before taking her spot in Contestant’s Row: “You Are My Sunshine”. Each contestant showed his/her strength (arm muscles to be exact) before spinning the Big Wheel. Eugenia put a little too much of that strength to use, explaining her fall to the floor. Bob shares his knowledge with the teachers of today & yesterday of the job being quite a challenge after witnessing his mother and wife’s (Dorothy Jo) school teachings long ago. That 6 in the price of the Buick Century shattered everyone’s hopes for appeared to be forseeable win for Kristi with no problem in sight. It was clear, according to the cash register with a total limit in items that Patricia went over after a purchase of 25 cans of yams. There was Sir Lance A Lot and featured in the “T.P.I.R. High Showcase” was Mr. Eats A Lot.

Tonight’s show winds up with a free spin for Patricia to win $1 million on the Big Wheel, which once again was very close at landing on that $1.00 that would have brought Patricia more joy than she’d imagined.

Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6023)

One Wrong Price: Cecilia lost; Painting, Dining Room Table (Wrong Price), and Popcorn Machine

Plinko: Christopher wins $13,500 with all 5 Plinko chips

Temptation: Peggy lost; Pontiac Sunfire ($16,435)

Showcase Showdown #1: Cecilia wins with 90 cents

Flip Flop: Victoria lost; Trip to Japan ($4517)

Pick A Pair: Seth wins; Living Room Group

Dice Game: Robert wins; Ford Focus ($14,135)

Showcase Showdown #2: Robert wins with 95 cents

Showcase: Cecilia wins; “Port ‘O Price Showcase” Luggage, Pool Table, and 2 Motorcycles ($19,903 in prizes)

Here he comes, from a local CBS station in Southern California, the newest voice behind television’s most exciting hour of fantastic prizes, the fabulous TV weatherman/game show announcer Rich Fields! A couple of first for Rich on his first day as announcer on a regular bases, such as telling a lucky contestant the good news that he/she is going to play Plinko (for up to $50,000) and reminding Bob what prize he was describing (Pontiac Sunfire). Speaking of Plinko, it’s nice to finally see someone win of more than $10,000 on that famous board. Yet another Flip Flop player flaps away, or should I say “flops away” thanks to the audience. Robert, a pilot veteran during The War, celebrates 62 years of marriage with wife Iota on today’s show and becomes the audience favorite after an excellent series of rolls in the Dice Game. After all these years of the Price is Right Train having a showcase of its own, Price’s little tugboat that could gets its own showcase known as “Port ‘O Price”, with Rebecca overseeing port activities. Lets not forget the end of Showcase #1 when Shane “lets it all out” (Removes Glasses and Shakes Hair) before introducing a brand new convertible. All this occurred after Rich’s teaching on being proper in high society.

After viewing today’s show, I must say this marks the beginning of a long, successful reign for Rich as announcer of daytime’s most popular game show. Best of luck, Rich!

Take the time to leave comments on this historic day in Price history.

Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6022)

Lucky 7: Rachelle wins; Pontiac Grand AM ($19,625)

It’s In The Bag: Margery lost $1000

Switch?: Amanda lost by a "switch"; Trip to Seattle and Sedona

Showcase Showdown #1: Rachelle wins with 65 cents

Shell Game: Joseph wins with 2 chips; Piano

Barker’s Bargain Bar: Hector lost; Clock and Dining Room Table

Any Number: Jill wins Adult Tricycle ($789); Chevy Aveo ($15,120)

Showcase Showdown #2: Hector wins with 90 cents

Showcase: Hector wins; Trip to Victoria, British Columbia, Green House, and Trailer ($32,575 in prizes)

We almost had another bidding incident like last Thursday’s show, but Bob noticed the displayed bid of $751 on exercise equipment not being Hector’s said bid of $1251. Alabama residents most be proud to live here after viewing this week’s shows with the following: A Sandra Shaw (same name as Mobile TV news personality), a Montgomery, and today an actual resident (Margery) of the state got to come on down. What was once on the person of the lovely Rebecca is now in the possession of Amanda. Shortly before winning her way for up on stage, Jill told all that she’s been at Television City since 10:00 PM to make it to today’s show and said she remembers the last few years of Bob hosting Truth or Consequences. Hector presented Bob a couple of items courtesy of Guam’s Air Force base.

We must say a final farewell to Jim Thornton after keeping the announcer position warm and say hello to Price’s newest voice, Mr. Rich Fields. Remember to give him a chance to grow in his important role. Would you do the same if this was 1986 and tomorrow’s show is Rod’s first day on the job?

Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6021)

Golden Road: Justin wins Golf Clubs ($936) and Chair ($1642); Dodge Viper ($85,137)

Grand Game: Brittany wins $100

Race Game: Russell wins; Keyboard, Bistro Group, Luggage, and Cabinet

Showcase Showdown #1: Justin wins with 90 cents

Cliffhangers: Michael wins (8 Steps); Bedroom Group

Money Game: Montgomery wins $185; Ford Focus ($16,347)

Double Prices: Daniel lost; Trip to Puerto Vallera ($3302)

Showcase Showdown #2: Montgomery wins with 80 cents

Showcase: Justin wins; “Miss Budinski Showcase” Gardening Equipment, Jukebox, and Boat ($27,470 in prizes)

Russell’s $1 on that computer may have been popular with the audience, but surprisingly it was Justin’s bid of $1500 that won his way for a walk of the Golden Road. After a set of ladies golf clubs, a chair, and the $85,000+ Dodge Viper were revealed, Justin shows his love for that can of zucchini that began his walk down the road of gold, which would later end by picking the wrong number in the price of the car. Russell proved that he knows how to race under 45 seconds by placing every price tag beside their correct prizes without any mistakes. The first half had plenty of $1 bids. Cliffhangers turns out to be Michael’s 2nd favorite game on the show. First being Plinko, of course! Montgomery, a non-Alabama citizen assumed 17 being the last two digits in the price of the Focus, which was very unlikely if you’re loyal to Money Game and the show itself. Even after his Money Game lost, Montgomery managed to reach the Showcase. Showcase #2 featured model Rebecca as “Miss Budinski” placing complaint signs on every door available, including one of the big doors on stage.

Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6020)

Clock Game: Stephanie wins Chaise ($599); Refrigerator ($729)

Spelling Bee: Edgar lost (3 Cards); Pontiac Vibe

Most Expensive: Phyllis lost; Trips to Fort Lauderdale, New Orleans, and Santa Fe

Showcase Showdown #1: Stephanie wins with 85 cents

Coming or Going: Lorena wins by “Going”; Clock ($3075)

Line ‘Em Up: Jaketra wins; Jeep ($19,485), Lamps, and Frame (Featuring Bob and his dog Winston)

Hit Me: Katie wins; Dining Room Group

Showcase Showdown #2: Jaketra wins with 30 cents

Showcase: Stephanie wins; Crib, Stereo System, and Dodge Caravan ($28,352 in prizes)

The legendary, yet unknown by many, and loved by all Clock Game returns for a playing by Stephanie, who needed a refresher of the game’s rules courtesy of Bob. The birthdays of Edgar and his wife’s (April 28th and 16th) may have been lucky card numbers, but choosing 11 at random lead to his unfortunate lost. Phyllis of Georgia successfully avoided the large majority of the audience shouting #2 (New Orleans), but she would lose anyway by picking Santa Fe, New Mexico. This Georgia peach still enjoyed visiting the show and like 99.9% of us, she still loves Bob. After taking a fall spinning the Big Wheel, Bob managed to hold Phyllis in place during her second spin to prevent another incident. Lorena’s attack on Bob was mostly an attempt at kissing his hand. Two retired greyhounds were featured on today’s show. I am now 75% certain that Lanisha is leaving the show, since she was referred as “the lovely Lanisha” before entering Contestant’s Row to show off a diamond bracelet up for bids. All of this after yesterday's many metions of her. Showcase #1 featured Shane demonstrating all 3 exercise machines.

The time set for this Saturday’s Million Dollar Spectacular is 8/7 PM Central Standard Time.

Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6019)

Swap Meet: Claire lost (Chess Set $495); Sofa, Globe ($495), and Table

Plinko: Craig wins $2100 with 3 Plinko chips

Card Game: Noah lost; Dodge Dakota ($19,130)

Showcase Showdown #1: Noah wins with 65 cents

Squeeze Play: Ramy lost; Hot Tub ($5995)

That’s Too Much: Sandra lost; Mercury Sadan

Check Out: Itamar lost; Big Screen TV

Showcase Showdown #2: Ramy wins with 90 cents

Showcase: Ramy wins; Brass Bed; Trip to the Bahamas, Chrysler PT Cruiser ($28,990 in prizes)

Once again, we must for wait for the airing of the show with Mr. Rich Fields just beginning his new position as the show’s announcer, so we must settle with the vocal tones of Jim Thornton. Sandra Shaw, one of the first contestants to come on down, happens to have the same name as a Mobile, Alabama TV news personality who recently returned to this part of the Deep South. After bidding $4000 on a refrigerator, Craig would later bid the winning bid of $500 on stemware for a playing of Plinko. Curtis representing the group, which itself represents the Canadian Navy brought along many gifts for Bob, such as books on Canada and the Canadian Navy itself. After showing off her tennis skills courtesy of the Lobster Tennis Machine, Bob suggested that Lanisha should stay with television rather than pursuing tennis. Interesting, she got mentioned more than usual on today’s show. Is the end of Lanisha’s time as model getting closer? We’ll see once Erika Valdez arrives to prove her worthy of modeling on Price. Another Squeeze Play lost by not removing the middle number. Folks, I finally found two male contestant names that I find interesting in Year 32, Ramy and Itmar! The Showcase Showdown’s score display is the latest thing that needs repairing, since it didn’t display anything during Showcase Showdown #2. Either that or someone backstage took a break from operating the score display. If you count a win of $2100 on Plinko as a win, we weren’t “skunked”.

This Saturday, the first of 3 more Million Dollar Spectaculars! The latest one honoring the teachers across the land. It's a tough job, but somebody brave and willing enough has to do it. My feeling of someone winning $1 million is on the rise once again. By the way, Rich Fields is announcing for the specials.

Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6017)

Flip Flop: Shelby lost; Piano ($6350)

Let ‘Em Roll; Serena wins with 3 rolls; Ford Focus

Switch?: Serena lost; Trip to Mazatlan and Montreal

Showcase Showdown #1: Gerardo wins with 95 cents

Buy or Sell: Tanya wins (+$400); Tennis Ball Machine, Sofa, and Serveware

Cover Up: David wins; Jeep Wrangler ($18,625)

Secret X: Tyler wins; Dining Room Group

Showcase Showdown #2: Tanya wins with 55 cents

Showcase: Double Overbid; Knives, Golf Cart, and Trip to China; “Train Depot Showcase” Sofa, Clock, and Motorcycle

Lets see, our new announcer Rich Fields is back, Claudia is not around, so today’s show must be new! Once again, the audience caused a contestant to flop in Flip Flop, this contestant being experienced piano player Shelby. Let ‘Em Roll returns with a win and we learn that the car is going to lead Serena (who will be driving) and her entire crew home after a long road trip to this southern part of California. Due to an error in the previous bidding, it turns out Serena was not suppose to be on stage. Bob assured her that both her and Gerardo, who was the victim of this error in the bidding process, would have a Ford Focus. Boy, that long explanation tired out Bob, which gave Rich a good laugh. For the first time ever, a contestant got to play two different Pricing Games! That’s right, Bob didn’t make this up. Too bad Serena didn’t win during her second Pricing Game. Gerardo the first winner of Contestant’s Row that didn’t even play a Pricing Game got his revenge during Showcase Showdown #1 by beating Serena’s score of 60 cents. Bob continued laughing throughout his entire description of Cover Up after hearing David say he’s not too sure about the rules of the game. After being a witness to two (3, if you count Gerardo still having to chance to spin the Big Wheel) historic moments, Tyler escaped Contestant’s Row for the search of a certain “X” known as the Secret X. Shane was our conductor for The Price is Right Train Depot, which unfortunately was the victim of an overbid. This would be the 2nd Double Showcase Overbid in a row of tapings.

Tomorrow’s show is a rerun, making Rerun Week #2 one rerun short. Mr. Rich Fields shall return as the show’s new announcer on the April 23rd airing. Bob will announce Rich’s position to all viewers on the 27th of the same month.

Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (Original Air Date 12-9-2003)

The Golden Road: Traci wins; Dining Room Group, Spa, and Chevy Corvette

Punch-A-Bunch: Patricia wins $10,000 with 3 punches

Clearance Sale: Jonathan wins; Gas Range, Desk, and Motor scooter

Showcase Showdown #1: Patricia wins with 85 cents

Double Prices: James wins; Trip to Singapore ($3374)

Dice Game: Robin lost; Dodge Caravan ($21,261)

Now or Then: Sarah lost (“Then” 1997); Living Room Group

Showcase Showdown #2: James wins with 85 cents

Showcase: Patricia wins ($29,688 in prizes); Popcorn Cart, Bedroom Group, and TV

Wish Traci got behind the wheel of her Corvette instead of a passenger seat. I guess today’s Golden Road playing made Bob rush to commercials after the $10,000 Punch-A-Bunch win. I lost count of how many times Jonathan of the Air Force switched price tags in Clearance Sale. “Got Plinko” was on Jennifer’s shirt. Sorry, no Plinko today! Another shirt quote “Show Me The Money” was on Robin’s, along with a drawing of the Big Wheel. Patricia wanted to know the measurements for both the boat and TV featured in today’s Showcase.

Game Show Network continues the countdown to Bob’s big 8-0 with a batch of Tattletales and the rarely seen Steve Allen I’ve Got A Secret, featuring Bob as a celebrity guest. Remember all of this, Wayne Brady, Friday, and Million Dollar Special, Saturday. One of those rare times I watch something on CBS Primetime.

Today's Airing of The Price is Right (Original Air Date 12-10-2003)

Most Expensive: Robert wins; Guitars, Secretary Desk, and Washer/Dryer

Money Game: Wendy wins; Jeep Wrangler ($18,495)

Plinko: Christina wins $0 with 4 Plinko Chips

Showcase Showdown #1: Wendy wins with 85 cents

Bonkers: Frederick wins; Bed ($3465)

Line 'Em Up: Granda wins; Ford Focus ($15,872)

Grocery Game: Gavin wins; Jukebox

Showcase Showdown #2: Gavin wins with 85 cents

Showcase: Gavin wins ($31,636 in prizes); Range, Refridgerator, Dishwasher, Trip to Disney World, and Trailer

Thanks to a little, no make that big help from his wife, Robert successfully conquered Most Expensive. Well, what the...nothing on Plinko! Looks like this has happened before, as Bob didn't say anything about this being the first. Slow and calm play lead Frederick to his Bonkers win. More trouble at the Grocery Game cash register strikes another model (Rachel). Claudia was not present on today's show.

Yep, it was all blonds this morning (excluding Joyce and Loni on the Match Game episodes on Game Show Network's countdown to Bob's big 8-0). Expect something like this again in the future once we're into the shows after Claudia's sudden departure for reasons that just don't add up.

Remember, Friday the 12th, Bob's big 8-0 and no sign of slowing down.

(Yep, it's rerun week yet again! Except for Thursday's show never before seen by the public eye on the "Eye Network" thanks to Dan Rather and Miss Rice)

(Get those VCRs ready for both the April 23rd and 27th shows, because the former is Rich Field's first day as the new "Voice of Price" and the latter is when Bob announces to viewers across the land that Mr. Fields is the new announcer. By the way, as of recent shows it was not all blond models)

Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6018)

Credit Card: Rita lost (Credit Limit $2300) ; Computer, Cradle, Windmill, Fireplace, and Vacuum

Pushover: Steven lost; Trip to Washington, D.C ($6241)

Master Key: Sarafina wins Stemware; Table and Pontiac Sunfire

Showcase Showdown #1: Steven wins with 95 cents

Freeze Frame: Tamara lost; Spa ($4495)

Dice Game: Gregory wins; Chevy Aveo ($14,135)

Now or Then: Patsy wins (“Then” August 1998); Stove, Refrigerator, and Dishwasher

Showcase Showdown #2: Tamara wins with 90 cents

Showcase: Tamara wins; Top-Selling Novels, Living Room Group, and Grand Piano ($21,402 in prizes)

Looks like we’ll have to wait a bit to hear Price’s newest voice, Rich Fields. In the meantime, we must settle for Jim Thornton, since these shows were taped before the final decision was made. For the first time in Rita’s life, she exceeded at credit card’s limit! 18-year old Steven claimed he had seen the show since Bob’s hair was brown. Shortly after, a close up of Bob came about showing his reaction. A beauty from the outside world, otherwise known as Sarafina, who recently celebrated her day of birth escaped Contestant’s Row for a playing of Master Key. Gregory was just plain full of enthusiasm from escape to win after winning the Dice Game thanks to those excellent dice rolls. ”Norman?” was that all-important question Gregory asked after Bob called him that. Guess Bob spoke with Norman during a commercial break before he was called to come on down. Gregory said Bob could call him whatever he wants. No need for a still picture of Gregory before commercials, he still had more to offer for the cameras. Mr. Thornton may have improved in interaction with Bob, but his enthusiasm, if any still doesn’t rank with those of Rich and Randy. By the way, I must thank Randy for keeping the announcer position in good heath during his small, yet excellent reign of announcing.

Yesterday’s pre-empted show shall air next Thursday, so it won’t be all reruns after all!

Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6016)

Money Game: Patsy wins; Chevy Colorado ($22,735)

Plinko: Gretchen wins $1500 with 3 Plinko Chips

Take Two: David (and wife Nicole) win; Dining Room Table, (Guitars + Fireplace = $2619) Wine Fridge

Showcase Showdown #1: Patsy wins with 85 cents

Safe Crackers: Eugene lost (Combination was $570, Camera); Trip to London

Pass the Buck: Connie wins $3000; Dodge Neon

Range Game: Margaret wins; Big Screen TV/with High Definition Receiver ($3398)

Showcase Showdown #2: Eugene wins with $1.00 ($1000)

Showcase: Double Overbid; Sleepware, Bedroom Group, Spa; Clock, Lawn mower, and Buick Century

Analisa’s first bid included some cents, but unfortunately for her that bid in the thousands. Three generations later (according to her shirt), Patsy wins her way up on stage to play and win Money Game. Gretchen held herself still very well until all can hear Rich’s big news that she’ll play Plinko for a chance of $50,000, yet she would later leave with only $1500. After about 1 minute of a Take Two debate between U.S Marine David & Nicole and a wrong choice a 2 prizes, he finally picked the two that added up to $2619. Before David took a spin of the Big Wheel, he gave Bob a gift in honor of all the years of representing the branches of the Service, a medallion. Until Bob gets his reading glasses, he’ll know what words are encrypted on the medallion. Half a show later, the tall-as-Bob’s shoulder Connie escaped Contestant’s Row for a little passing of the buck. Coach Margaret of a small baseball team relied on the manager of her team for the right time to stop the Range Game rang. “…on this Price is Right show” quoting Mr. Rich Field at the end of his description of Showcase #2. Today’s show ends with the usual routine after a Double Showcase Overbid, Bob mingles with the audience and all 3 models (Shane, Rebecca, and Lanisha) wave.

Speaking of old Rich, the big news we have all been waiting for since October has arrived! After narrowing the line-up of Price announcers to 4, the final decision by the folks at Price has been revealed. Desk roll, please!

(Desk Roll)

The new announcer of The Price is Right is………. Mister Richard Fields! Come on down!

Later this month, the show with this announcement shall air for the entire world to see and hear. Better tape this one for the Price VHS archives, because this is a new beginning for the announcer position of Price.

In the meantime, I’ll be taking the morning off tomorrow since Price and all of CBS Daytime will be taking the day off too thanks to these two people, Dan Rather and a substitute for fried rice.

Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6015)

Check Game: Amber lost (Check for $3500); Bed ($3071)

Eazy Az 1, 2, 3: Evan lost; Kitchen Appliances, Chairs, and Motorcycle

On the Spot: June lost; Ford Focus

Showcase Showdown #1: Evan wins with $1.00 ($1,000)

Barker’s Bargain Bar: Kari wins; Floor Clock and Bar Set

Any Number: Michael wins Flatware; Chevy Cavalier ($16,430)

Hi Lo: Michelle wins; Entertainment Center and TV

Showcase Showdown #2: Kari wins with 90 cents

Showcase: Evan wins; Couch, Exercise Equipment, and Trailer ($19,640 in prizes)

Aerospace engineer and Colorado student Amber, who wore a shirt bearing the famous CBS Eye, who also watched Price since age 4-5, kept her 92-year-old great grandmother’s promise of kissing Bob’s right cheek, and made a big mess finishing off the rest of the big check. Unfortunately, she lost thanks to random prices by the audience and a lack of Check Game viewings. Buck the Rin Tin Tin look-alike was brought forward to Price’s audience. Unbelievable, that dog is about 1½ years of age. Evan wanted to know what exactly those two chairs are made of after his Eazy Az 1, 2, 3 lost. Amazing, Bob and June looked almost identical, except for the glasses and lipstick. Yeah, I was talking about June in the latter part of that sentence. By the way, this was June’s 8th visit to Price all the way from the Peach State, which is Georgia of course. $1,000 was quite a-plenty making up for Evan’s previous lost. Kari, whom Bob had a name tag conflict with at the beginning of the show, became today’s first winner and second Showcase Showdown winner. Telling by Michael’s hand gesture, I thought he was going to say “0” being the final digit in the price of that car. After 5 Pricing Games and one Showcase Showdown, Michelle, whose name is the female version of Michael, finally escaped Contestant’s Row after bidding last for an excellent playing of Hi Lo.

According to a report, Price is closer than ever in choosing Rod’s successor. It’s all down to 4 announcers trying out for that valuable position. Could it be Randy, Rich, Art, and Jim? Who knows, I’m just guessing!

Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6014)

2 For The Price of 1: Larice lost; Tea Set and Spa

Pathfinder: Erica lost; Chevy Malibu ($21,325)

Clearance Sale: Doyle lost; Wall Clock, Treadmill, and Sofa

Showcase Showdown #1: Larice wins with 85 cents

Time is Money: Blake wins; Bedroom Group

One Right Price: Karen wins; Washer & Dryer and Dining Room Group

One Away: Eric wins; Ford Mustang ($19,145)

Showcase Showdown #2: Karen wins with 95 cents

Showcase: Karen wins; Electric Guitar, Cruise, and Dodge Dakota ($30,594 in prizes)

Today’s Monday, post-Daylight Savings Time Sunday, Rich Fields is still announcing, and unfortunately Lanisha has yet to realize that she’s not right for Price’s model position. Future doc, or so it appears Doyle lost the biggest patient he’s ever operated on, Clearance Sale. While Blake was trying to escape the audience, his rather full-of-youth mother made it to Contestant’s Row before him. She would later make her exit so that soon-to-be contestant Blake can make his winning bid. After his winning bid, Blake would later win Time is Money without any mistakes on the first try. Something special was in store for the birthday of one contestant Karen. A whole different kind of Erica made it on stage, except this one happened to be named without the “a”, so he’s Eric to be exact. With 5 excellent choices and 5 smooth talking “Ladies, do I have (at least) (insert number) right”, Eric was today’s One Away winner. In an attempt to present Lanisha in positive light, she presented the first prize of Showcase #2 while wearing sunglasses and smiled without any sort of grinning. Not enough to make her worthy for a position on Price, but this is some positive start. We end today’s show with a certain birthday girl celebrating with friends after a total of $30,000+ was brought to the attention of her and the entire Price audience.

Today's Airing of The Price is Right (#6013)

3 Strikes: Kristen lost; Lincoln SL ($40,732)

Most Expensive: David wins; Patio Rack, Dining Room Table, and Grandfather Clock

Punch-A-Bunch: Von wins $5250 with 3 punches

Showcase Showdown #1: David wins with 95 cents

Squeeze Play: Earlene lost; Entertainment Center and TV ($7087)

Pick A Pair: Annie wins; Trip to Portugal

That's Too Much: Robert lost; Dodge Ram ($22,920)

Showcase Showdown #2: Robert wins with $2.00 ($10,000)

Showcase: Robert wins; Bed, Stove, Chair, and Soda Fountain ($30,646 in prizes)

Jim Thornton's out for now and Rich "Richardson" Fields is in. Remember to vote in CBS.com's announcer poll, from Art to Rich, and also remember we have a big role in the future of Price’s announcing position. Who would have thought that this timeline that nearly destroyed Price’s model position beyond repair would lead up to the latest model rotation (Lanisha, Shane, and Rebecca): Dian Sues/Holly Sues/Pearson-Freemantle Firings/Claudia Quits/. Someday the entire truth shall be revealed to the entire game show community, but first we must leave this awful part of history behind and get back to the best of times of Price, which includes today's show. Robert was among Price’s audience about 20 years ago and reunites with the other Bob that is our Bob of course. Robert (the contestant) already knew about giving a shout of, “That’s Too Much!” proving that he’s truly a loyal friend and true. Adding to this wonderful “Bob and Bob” reunion is a win of $10,000 on the Big Wheel. We end this reunion with a very easy Showcase win, since it was obvious to all loyal friends that opponent David overbid. Hmm, I wonder what Robert was thinking when he viewing his prizes with the models in this current rotation? My guess is that he wished Janice, Kathleen, Holly, and even Rod if he had lived a little longer were there.

See y’all next week! (Yep, still applies even for a rerun)

Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6012)

Push Over: Elizabeth lost; Folding Trailer ($8306)

Lucky 7: Mark lost; Buick Century ($22,782)

Barker’s Markers: Edward wins; Stove, Dining Room Table, and Luggage

Showcase Showdown #1: Mark wins with $1.00 ($1000)

Bullseye: Amanda wins; Living Room Group and Books

Dice Game: Vanessa lost; Dodge Caravan ($22,165)

Double Prices: Jonathan wins; Bedroom Group ($2656)

Showcase Showdown #2: Vanessa wins with 85 cents

Showcase: Vanessa wins; Sunscreen Products, Swimwear, Trip to Palm Springs, and Boat ($31,504)

Both Iowa Track and Field teams (Male and Female) caused Elizabeth’s lost. Bob was too late asking Edward not to flirt around 90-year-old Eunice in Contestant’s Row, as he would kiss her on the cheek 3 times. One Pricing Game later, Edward and Eunice were finally separated. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. Two of the latest athletic contestants to come on down were Amanda and Jonathan. Both would eventually escape Contestant’s Row to test their non-athletic skills. Eunice pulled an Edward on Bob, this time through words such as “gentleman and satirical elegance”. Bob was the one blowing a kiss, unlike Edward. Another day, another historic moment, we’ve had bids of $800, $801, $802, and $803. The last one was the winning bid for Vanessa. Showcase #1 featured various necklaces, such as the “Mardi Gras Mask” for Candace. We end today’s show with Vanessa and all her cowgirls gathered around the boat in celebration.

Coming soon, three more Million Dollar Spectaculars and their themes are:

“Salute to Teachers”
“Bob’s Induction into the Television Hall of Fame” (expect lots of clips from the past)
“College and University Students” (possibly better contestants)
