(Note: Folks, the summaries for this week's reruns were posted in advance of a possible power outage as a result of a storm named "Dennis". This is the second time your daily poster from Mobile, Alabama was forced into posting Price reruns in advance of a hurricane's arrival. Wish our region the best!)
Our San Diego State representative (also attended by the spawn of Price’s producer Roger) was clearly anticipating to play a Pricing game involving cash prizes according to her “Poor College Student” shirt, but a trip to Rome should be something as good. The same Fay who almost rammed herself into the bottom of the stage as she came on down would conquer Master Key with only one key in hand. After finding out she won all 3 prizes, Fay made a run around the stage before arriving back to bow down to the floor Bob looked on in amazement. Following this act of victory, Fay had the energy to hug Bob at the very end before commercial break. Resembling a whole different “Raymond”, our Raymond for the hour would leave Contestant’s Row at a time Melissa wished she had stayed for. Words of encouragement from family, including a use of the word “girl” were shouted during Fay’s time at the Big Wheel. Michelle relied upon the audience only once during the Race Game and that only occurred after pulling the lever to reveal only 2 prizes with the correct prices. Like Fay, Elie was quite a character too, only it all took place on the Turntable. So far, we have 5 winners in a row; will Marvin make this a perfect Friday show? Sadly, this loyal left-handed viewer since he was a “a little guy” wrote an unfinished check above $2000. “There he goes again” says Bob as Elie made his victory leaps during Showcase Showdown #2.
Cliffhangers: Stephanie wins (8 Steps); Home Office and Computer
Showcase Showdown #1: Andrea wins with 85 cents
Switch?: Andrew lost by “staying”; Couple of Banjos and Sofa
Let ‘Em Roll: Stephanie wins $2000; Ford Focus
Range Game: James lost; Spa ($8995)
Showcase Showdown #2: Andrew wins with 80 cents
Showcase: Double Overbid; “Rhymes” Showcase, Trip to Philadelphia, London, and Japan; “FPI: Federal Prize Investigator” Showcase, Dish Washer, Couple of Motorcycles, and Trailer
Among our first four contestants today was a braided haired, yet female Aries and Andrew, one of the few fellows to ever give up in Contestant’s Row (by sitting down) after placing a $6000 bid. Negative audience reaction was heard the moment Andrea chose to freeze her choice, but she proved those show participants wrong. James of Indiana who just arrived in Contestant’s Row was lured back before joining Andrew and Stephanie in their seats in Contestant’s Row. Aries’ chance of giving Bob both a hug & kiss only if she wins the Chevrolet came true after all. It’s interesting to note that Aries’ had no knowledge of Lucky 7 until Bob explained it of her, including every other viewer new to the game. Both of Cliffhangers last two items were priced correctly, winning Stephanie a new home office and a newfound love for the game. Before Andrea said she would rather have her name pronounced Anne-DREE-uh, Bob acknowledged the fact that older men tend to shrink, explaining his lost of a couple of inches over the past decade. Our character of the day Andrew escapes at last to make one important decision as a student of television (future TV producer), only resulting in the first loss of the show. Our second Stephanie played Let ‘Em Roll to the very end of the road, leaving the stage $2000 richer. Hoosier James made it on stage for Range Game showing up last. The only thing Andrew hurt was his hand rather than the Big Wheel or any witnesses. Today’s Showcases featured rhymes, an FPI agent, and distraction “behind the podium” possibly due to the presence of our agent. Unfortunately, our players with a big difference in height went over by so little.
Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6141) (Original Air Date 1-18-2005)
Credit Card: Aaron lost (Credit Limit $2000); Steamer, Tea Set, Elliptical Trainer, Cookware, and Chair
It’s In The Bag: Norah wins $4000
Money Game: Tawnda wins; Pontiac Vibe ($17,835)
Showcase Showdown #1: Aaron wins with 95 cents
Secret X: Jared wins (X at the Top); Bedroom Group
Dice Game: Kelsey lost (rolled first “6”); Ford Focus ($16,265)
Double Prices: Darlene lost; Sailboat ($6171)
Showcase Showdown #2: Kelsey wins with 95 cents
Showcase: Kelsey wins; Dining Room Group, German Beer Steins, and Trip to Germany ($15,829 in prizes)
Aaron may be shorter than his fellow members of Contestant’s Row, but a photograph of him playing his now “beloved drums” should be an interesting sight, despite the fact that he’s not a drummer, nor he’s loyal to Credit Card. Bob kept the show’s promise of “making people happy” by insisting that members of Price’s backstage staff return the latest prize up for bids, specifically for one Tawnda who just entered Contestant’s Row. On the first day of her 18th year of life, Norah proved her true loyalty to Price after her It’s In The Bag performance, but unfortunately her mother and grandma forced her to end the run for $16,000 out of their less than confident selves. No hard feelings by our young contestant or her family, $4000 is more money than most people will ever earn in one day. Both Tawnda and Norah would say hello to their crew back home before leaving Showcase Showdown #1 and the stage today. Thanks to frequent visitor and friend Robert’s advice, Jared managed to be among the lucky ones to come on down. “3” was Kelsey of Oregon’s unlucky number in a Dice Game playing consisting of the first “6” being rolled and actual boos from the audience at one point. Darlene sporting a hairstyle from times gone by escapes Contestant’s Row nice & easy due to her left foot recovering from surgery. Jared dedicated his Big Wheel spin to all the unemployed actors of New York City; Bob mentioned the ones in Southern California as well. None of our formerly best-kept secrets of the Southeast featured at the beginning of Aaron’s Showcase were devoured as Rich described these products provided by Krispy Kreme. We end today’s show with Kelsey surrounded by a large number of members in her Oregon faculty as Rich managed to come over to congratulate her with a both a handshake and kiss.
Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6140) (Original Air Date 1-17-2005)
Flip Flop: Margaret wins by “flopping”; Trip to Cancun, Mexico ($3764)
Pocket Change: Morgan wins with 50 cents; Ford Focus ($18,530)
Punch A Bunch: John wins $100 with 4 Punches
Showcase Showdown #1: Morgan wins with 95 cents
Barker’s Bargain Bar: Jerome wins; Iron Clad Gas Stove and Bar Set (Bargain of $1000)
Now or Then: John lost (“Then” August 1998); Living Room Group and Keyboard
Any Number: Brittany wins Ford Taurus ($21,390); Dining Room Table ($465)
Showcase Showdown #2: Jerome wins with 90 cents
Showcase: Jerome wins; “Unpacking” Showcase, Range, TV Set, Grandfather Clock, and Chevy Colorado ($31,686 in prizes)
Our journey begins with a “Lots” theme in the opening, followed by some hair partially blocking a camera’s view of Bob making his entrance from the middle big doors. Lucky for Margaret, she didn’t have to use “all her strength” as Bob demonstrated during his own “flipping”. The same female variety of Morgans who had no idea what to bid (“I don’t know”, says Morgan after Bob asked for her bid) before discovering that’s she won her way on stage became Pocket Change’s first winner. Representing the Navy, John used most, if not all his strength when punching four holes on the Punchboard. It’s safe to say $100 is quite a lot when used wisely. Folks, meet Timothy the Dog who should be in someone’s care before the night is through. Jerome wearing a shirt with Bob’s image on front escapes Contestant’s Row not for anniversary jewelry as presented earlier, but for luggage and both prizes featured in the bargain bar. A can of Yams with a 1998 price above $1.00 sealed this civilian John’s fate. Like Morgan (a soccer player), our last contestant to escape Contestant’s Row was athletic (in basketball) and is also the proud owner of a new automobile. Today’s Showcases featured boxes, snow, and a Chevy Colorado with a back full of boxes. Before the break, Bob searches for the member of Price’s staff celebrating a day of birth. Before Bob revealed the Showcases’ actual retail prices, he asked the audience to wish Shane another happy day of birth. We end today’s show with Jerome and his wife standing in front of something much more expensive than anniversary jewelry, a Chevrolet automobile sharing a “C” state’s name.
On the Spot: Eric wins (Via Yellow & Pink Path); Ford Mustang Coup
Showcase Showdown #1: Jeanetta wins with 85 cents
Coming or Going: Hope lost by “Coming”; Spa ($3995)
Dice Game: Julianna wins (Rolled 5, 6, and 3); Ford Ranger ($15,623)
Hit Me: Joel wins (Stays at 19, House Goes Broke); Trip to Mazatlan, Mexico
Showcase Showdown #2: Hope wins with 65 cents
Showcase: Hope wins; “DeVinci” Showcase, Pool Table, Julianna Greenhouse, and Boat ($21,530 in prizes)
Ermanno of Ontario (California) joins the site of today’s first pricing to exercise his check writing skills. After winning himself a rather large TV set (featuring a picture of Price’s Year 33 graphic); expect Ermanno to return the rope loaned by Price to prevent a possible automobile/television collision while on the road. Jeanetta (who finds Bob “awesome”) only won “the biggest prize” among the quad of Race Game prizes and that happens to be the Armoire. Yet another non-college student, Eric (like Ermanno and the University of California’s Trojans) happens to be just a fan of the Aztecs. When Eric called the On the Spot item Shower Radio just plain “radio”, Bob believed he was off his rocker. After checking with the staffers back stage, Bob owed our future Mustang winner an apology. Hope took Bob’s word of “well-organized young lady” when it comes to whether she’s “Coming or Going”, yet not even the namesake could save her. Julianna created a stir of boos among the Price loyalists in the audience after admitting to knowing nothing about the Dice Game, but she managed to make a small difference when she mentioned her love for Bob. Who knows how Julianna had played if she had previously known about the Dice Game? Genuine Pennsylvania State student and blackjack player Joel proved himself worthy of those titles, earning himself a Mexican holiday. Hope’s Showcase featured Rachel in the role of Leonardo DeVinci and 4 versions of his most well known painting. We did receive a CBS Heath Watch today, but only during the commercial break as always. We end this week’s shows with Hope hugging the bearded Rachel in front of the boat. Rich made it on camera just in time!
Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6094) (Original Air Date 11-3-2004)
Freeze Frame: Nathan wins; Hot Tub ($4495)
Half Off: Ronald lost; 1 Half and Box #10 (Box #9 contained $10,000)
One Away: Cathrine wins; Ford Focus ($18,325)
Showcase Showdown #1: Nathan wins with 75 cents
Double Prices: Patricia lost; Piano ($6000)
Grocery Game: Enid lost ($24.87); Dining Room Group
That’s Too Much: Jennifer lost; Ford Taurus ($21,145)
Showcase Showdown #2: Jennifer wins with 95 cents
Showcase: Nathan wins; “Double Showcase Winner” Krispy Kreme Donuts for a Year, Trip to Monte Carlo & China, Trailer, Stove, Bed, and TV Set ($46,548 in prizes)
It was new homeowner Nathan who earned the chance of adding a Hot Tub to the house. Even if he had listened to Bob’s entire explanation of Freeze Frame, he still would’ve stopped the price rotation at the right point. No outrageous bid from John in this go round of “Items Up For Bids”, yet Ronald would take the liberty of escaping Contestant’s Row. Unfortunately for Central Time viewers, we weren’t able to see Ronald’s Half Off outcome due to Mr. Harry Smith of Old Columbia’s “The Early Show”. Canada’s Cathrine, whom Bob referred to as both a “pretty girl” and “our little friend from Canada” (after winning the Focus) earned herself a couple of grand USA welcome gifts. The Ford Focus and attending today’s Price (and meeting Bob up close as a bonus). Cathrine responded with a small “yeah” to Bob’s assumption of her returning to Canada with U.S. dollars before attempting to beat Nathan’s ¾ of a dollar score on the Big Wheel. Newlyweds Donald & Roxie joined today’s show as part of their honeymoon, but it was Donald who became the lucky one yet again. Shortly before purchasing items totaling between $20-$21, Enid’s red cap corrected Bob’s first glance of her representing “The Red Hats” gang. “See you at the Big Wheel” says our red capped contestant after an unfortunate end. Viewers would find out that Donald is an overall good fellow after his Contestant’s Row pep talk during the commercial break. Jennifer and her $500 bonus are proof that Donald’s pep talk actually worked. “Stop…..That’s Too Much!” says the young female who is actually “wild about Bob”, according to the shirt she’s bearing. Before spinning the Big Wheel, each of our lady contestants were given time to say “hello” to friends & family either attending or viewing the show at home. After Patricia, Bob said “hello” to his doctor before requesting hip help, giving the audience and Rich something good to laugh about. “You can’t stay there during the day”, says Bob after Jennifer asked for the length of Monte Carlo trip (6 days, 5 nights).
Today’s Airing of The Price is Right (#6093) (Original Air Date 11-2-2004)
Triple Play: Brian lost; Ford Focus ($14,150), Dodge Dakota ($19,130)
Cliffhangers: Bradley wins (10 Steps); Living Room Group and Vacuum
Bonkers: Sonia lost; Computer Cabinet and Computer($4305)
Showcase Showdown #1: Bradley wins with 85 cents
Eazy Az 1, 2, 3: Helen lost; Recliner, China Dinnerware, and High Definition TV Set
Pass the Buck: Tari wins; $1000 (Behind Card 1) and Chevy Aveo (Card 2)
Barker’s Bargain Bar: Jamie lost; Cast Iron Stove (Bigger Bargain: $800) and Dining Room Table
Showcase Showdown #2: Helen wins with $1.00 ($1000)
Showcase: Helen wins; Bedroom Group, Fragrance Bottles, and Trip to Portugal ($20,619 in prizes)
Brian bearing a “Got Plinko” shirt has waited all his life to bid $1000 on a Dual Tricycle to earn the opportunity to stand beside Bob. Sadly, his sister was unable to make it for today’s show. The enthusiastic Plinko fanatic may have dodged a bullet around the Focus thanks to Bob remiding him of the game's concept, but a second one managed to slip near the end. Canadian and Price loyalist Bradley gave us his own version of the Cliffhanger mountain climber’s yodel before pricing the first 2 items correctly. Roger may be correct that only 2 Cliffhangers contestants conquered the mountain without any climbing, but according to Bob he’s known for seeing double after a little too much alcoholic beverage. Yep, even Roger laughed at that type of humor. Sonia showed us a variety of combinations in today’s Bonkers and ended the game with none right. Final pattern was rather interesting as Bob showed us. Loyalist since Truth or Consequences Helen proved herself to be among the "players" today, yet the outcome didn’t come the way she expected. Tari had enough of taking on Lady Luck, so she left happily with $1000 and a brand new Avio. One member the audience was actually in tears after earning the opportunity to spin the Big Wheel free of pricing games. He would leave the stage in joy after scoring 25 cents. Bradley’s Showcase featured a confused gardener named Brandi, a compact disc jukebox, and a Chrysler PT Cruiser, totaling above $30,000.
Grand Game: Kendra wins $10,000 (Target Price: $5.00)
Money Game: Kenneth wins $128; Ford Focus ($18,280)
Safe Crackers: John wins (Combination $850); Floor Clock and Sound System
Showcase Showdown #2: Kendra wins with 80 cents
Showcase: Mitzie wins; Bedroom Group, Luggage, and Trip to Belgium ($23,556 in prizes)
Bob referred to our first items up for bids as “the whole outfit”, as in a Drum Set and Symbols. The full names of Canadian honeymooners Mitzie & Jason (Cologne) will never be forgotten for 3 reasons. Mitzie never witnessed the Clock Game being played, she played the game like a professional, and it appeared she took the joke of a Pasadena, California Garden Shed's price passing for the homes there into consideration (only in the $2000-$1000 range before coming to $999). Price loyalist from Oregon Tinna may have lost what Bob’s been well known for giving away for over 32 years, yet she would eventually earn herself $1000 on the Big Wheel seconds after saying “Guys, I made it!” Unfortunately for some members of the Price viewing audience and herself, Gina never escaped Contestant’s Row for moments unknown (maybe even Bob’s latest use of the words “pretty little girl” or something similar). Today’s appearance of the Grand Game proves that King’s Hawaiian Bread is quite popular and more than ever since it won Kendra $10,000. Kenneth escapes Contestant’s Row at last to both address Bob as “Mr. Barker” and play Money Game. At the sounds of ever so many shouts of “$850”, John easily cracked (not literally) the Safe Crackers safe. Showcase Showdown #2 was Kenneth’s high point for one-lines, such as “Go over, baby!” seconds before John went over and telling Kendra that she’s already gone “3 Gs”. Well, it backfired for Kenneth at the end, but we must admit that he was one fun contestant for today. Kendra’s Showcase was dedicated to the number “8”, featuring prizes such as a Pontiac & its G8 engine. Mitzie & her new husband Jason shall return to the north of the U.S. with quite a haul, including a Garden House taking much of the weight.
